Lynne Fiddmont just dropped the lead single/video from her upcoming CD, Power of Love, a collection of both original songs and covers of soul classics. The first single is “Groovy People,” her Motown-styled flip on the Philly Soul classic made famous by the late, great Lou Rawls in 1976, penned by the legendary duo of Kenny Gamble & Leon Huff. The video is a delightful treatment in which Lynne gets to be her lighthearted and charming cute-n-sexy self, dancing and funning with a cavalcade of her friends. It gets the message of the song across perfectly: she doesn’t have time for phony, negative, drag-on-your-energy type people. It’s a message all of us can relate to in these stressful trying times. With this heartwarming throwback, Lynne Fiddmont reminds us of the simple yet essential pleasures of good, down-home company and circles of friends. And there’s plenty more of that vibration to come on Power of Love.
